Upper Room - The Upper Room® is
a global ministry dedicated to supporting the spiritual formation of
Christians seeking to know and experience God more fully. From its
beginnings as a daily devotional guide, Upper Room Ministries® has
grown to include publications, programs, prayer support, and other
resources to help believers of all ages and denominations move to a
deeper level of faith and service. Upper Room resources are grouped
in five different areas:
UMCOR -
UMCOR is the humanitarian relief and development
agency of the United Methodist Church, a worldwide denomination.
Compelled by Christ, UMCOR responds to natural or human made
disasters—those interruptions of such magnitude that they overwhelm
a community's ability to recover on its own.
Lazarus House -
Our mission is to provide hospitality, food, safe
shelter, and support services to persons connected to our community
who are homeless or in need. May all who enter feel the love of
Jesus.
Northern Illinois
food Bank
- The mission of NIFB is to provide
nutritious food to all those in need through our own efforts and
those of our 665 partner agencies in the following 13 counties -
Boone, DuPage, DeKalb, Grundy, Kane, Kankakee, Kendall, Lake,
McHenry, Ogle, Stephenson, Will and Winnebago. NIFB acquires,
gathers, handles, and distributes approximately three million pounds
of donated, government, and purchased food each month through local
food pantries, soup kitchens, shelters, youth activity centers and
other food assistance sites.

United Methodist Volunteers In Mission
(UMVIM), SEJ is the short-term mission agency of the Southeastern
Jurisdiction of the United Methodist Church. UMVIM exists to
promote, encourage, and enable Christians to exemplify “Christian
Love In Action” through short-term mission service in the United
States and abroad.

Conference - In The United
Methodist Church, the annual conference serves as the "basic unit"
of the church. The United States has 63 annual conferences,
supervised by 50 bishops. There are 59 annual conferences in Africa,
Europe, and the Philippines, which are supervised by 18 bishops. In
the U.S., an annual conference may cover an entire state, only part
of the state, or even parts of two or more states.
Golden Diners - Golden Diner Centers serve nutritious home-style
meals that are served weekdays to individuals age 60 and over and
their spouses, regardless of age. Dining centers give older adults
an opportunity to meet new people, enjoy conversation, play games
and just have fun. Everyone can be as active or reserved as they
want to be.
