Membership in Baker Memorial’s United Methodist Men is open to
all men of the Church. Our current activities and programs
consist of the following:
· Men’s
Bible study – This group meets every Thursday morning from 7:00
a.m. until 8:00 a.m. in Wiley Hall. We begin with a continental
breakfast and fellowship and then get into our latest study.
We take turns leading our studies and sometimes use video and
DVD as well as just books. This group is varied in age and
background and where we are on our faith walk. We allow
ourselves the latitude to take it easy and get off the beaten
path of the study when the group needs to do so. We all really
look forward to our fellowship and study and there is a lot of
laughter as well as mutual support for each other. Come join us.
· Golf
during the week (in season) – Another group of Baker Men have
been playing golf during the week for many years and would enjoy
any other men of the Church to join them.
· Service
opportunities – We prepare three to four of the Wednesday night
Suppers each season and donate the proceeds to organizations
such as the United Methodist Commission on Relief, ASP,
Missions, and others. We also do Church work days to assist with
building and grounds needs. A major effort each year is
coordinating the ringing of bells for the Salvation Army at
Christmas time, where most of the Church sings up to ring bells
in one hour shifts.
Men
of our Church family, come join our merry band.
